Uploading videos and images to Firebase Storage | React Native Tutorial

Media uploads make or break a lot of apps, and Firebase Storage handles them without building a custom backend. I create a minimal React Native app that uploads both images and videos, shows a blur effect while files are in flight, and plays videos as soon as they land. The full build, Firebase setup included, is in the video.
What's inside
- Firebase project setup with Storage enabled in test mode
- Expo AV for video playback and a custom dev client for native modules
- The react-native-community/blur effect during uploads
- Separate image and video selection with an upload flow that updates the UI
- Watch out: the free tier caps bandwidth at 1 GB per day
- A Figma design from Echo Studios you can duplicate
